Description

Mary Seacole had a strong desire to assist in taking care of the English soldiers during the Crimean War.

As a trained nurse, with a wealth of medical knowledge,  she journeyed thousand of miles from her native Jamaica.

Unfortunately, upon her arrival, she not only faced a lack of official support but was also rejected for a job by Florence Nightingale.

Undaunted, this was the beginning of Mary’s adventures in many lands……
